About BlueCap Productions

BlueCap Productions was started by Bryan Swoboda in 2006 as a way to preserve many of the mineral-related stories Bryan heard as he was growing up.

These stories played an important part in Bryan's upbriging as his father, legendary mineral collector Ed Swoboda, would often share his globetrotting stories of adventure in search of these mineral treasures.

Having spent years in the advertising world before becoming a documentary filmmaker, Bryan decided to create a new company that would capture some of these stories on film before they disappeared in time.

Named in honor of his father's 1971 discovery of the world-famous blue cap tourmaline pocket at the Tourmaline Queen Mine, BlueCap Productions was created just in time for the 2007 Tucson mineral show.

What's Hot In Tucson: 2007, with Show Host David Wilber, was the first product from BlueCap Productions. The enthusiastic response to the program started BlueCap Productions down the road of creating new mineral-related, educational products for the world to enjoy.
